April 23, 2012 - The ceiling is drywalled thanks to Papa and his help everyday last week! Some walls are up and the lights in the kitchen and dinning room work now! Kitchen April 22

April 10, 2012 - I got the drywall for the main floor, but have not finished everything required behind the walls. Kitchen April 8 Kitchen April 9

March 23, 2012 - Well, I got the post-retrofit inspection done and have now did very little on the house. I have lifted 5 different floors from the kitchen with two layers of plywood between, 3/4" and 1/4". The 1/4" ply came up like 1,000 toothpicks nailed to the floor.

March 13, 2012 - A relaxing week last week now that I am at the grant stage. I turned the soil and outline a garden last night. Garden! Eco-Energy Audit is on Friday.

March 5, 2012 - Main Floor is fully insulated! I went under the house and insulated the crawl space and put a vapour barrier on the crawlspace floor. Now I am far enough to qualify for the eco-energy grant that I have been rushing to get to. More thanks than I can express to Millard and Papa for helping every week on the main floor!

March 2, 2012 - Electrical done in the outside walls. Insulation 95% done too! I've been under the house, singing with the bass line. Lucky there were no animals, living or dead, under there.

February 22, 2012 - So my suspension in my car needed to be replaced this week. The kitchen is tore apart, the purple insulation is installed, and 2/3 sealed with greatstuff foam.

February 15, 2012 - Radiator in kitchen was removed last night and plaster and lath from behind it removed. Kitchen sink to be removed tonight to finish removal of floor. Photo from a few days ago. Feb 12 Feb 21 March 1

February 8, 2012 - Fridge sat where a bowl in a wooden box would have sat to catch the unused tears from the family. (piss pot) There is a 'vanity' in the wall. Photo

February 6, 2012 - Upstairs is painted and waiting for trim. Downstairs is gutted to the studs with the exception of the existing kitchen. I am still waiting to decide if I can live without a kitchen for a period of time. Also the relentless dust cloud is getting closer and closer to my living quarters. The dinning room is still covered with about 6" of plaster to be shoveled into garbage bags.

February 4, 2012 - Stefan and Millard came to help remove the plaster and lath from the existing dinning room. A Fire burnt all day fueled with the entire rooms supply of lath.

February 3, 2012 - Millard and Papa Earl came to help this afternoon after work. Papa installed the spacers he cut for the window trim, while Millard and I removed the wood paneling from the existing dinning room.
